Calcium supplements does it matter if it is designed for animals?

i was looking at calcium supplements and i discovered it would be much cheaper if i just bought some powdered calcium carbonate than bought pills . obviously food grade would be ok to eat but i saw on ebay many sellers are selling limestone flour designed as a supplement for animals for half the price. Could i use this instead?
