Advice needed about a wedding plan. What should my friends do?

They are getting married and they are planning the wedding. The bride's family expects them to serve venison and chocolate moose for the reception. They both agree that's two deer and they don't have a lot of doe. Should they pass the buck and tell the family to pay for it themselves? Should my friends just forget the wedding antelope instead?
