How to get surfer girl wavy tousled hair? :)?

i would prefer not 2 use moose or wax. i have hairspray and straighteners which i use to curl my hair aswell :) i've tried a bun over night..it doesnt work on my hair. my hair is about 2 inches past shoulder length & i have a full fringe :) please help :):) x
