Small dot of light in center of vision?

I have eye floaters and just recently I saw a small dot of light in my vision that lasts for 1-5 seconds and goes away for awhile...I have very bad anxiety and I'm usually stressed...I work in a limestone quarry in Kansas and breathe the dust kind of often and I had a short spanned bloody nose the other day...could any of these be factors to cause it? Im going in for a eye appointment next weekend it's the only time I have avaiable....and if it is retinal detachment and it is caught early enough is the procedure that a optrimist can do painless with the laser or freezing?
